montreal race weekend

heineken X f1: microsite

In collaboration with Formula 1, Heineken hosted a Festival on Notre Dame Island for the Montreal Race Weekend.

We were tasked with creating a promotional Microsite to provide fans with a guide leading up to the event. With many attractions taking place, we needed to consolidate this information on a user-friendly and easily accessible Website.

Role & Duration

ROLE: Information Architecture, Wireframing, Interaction Design, Prototyping.

DURATION: Two months leading up to the event in June 2024.

Responsible for wire-framing and prototyping the Microsite for Desktop & Mobile.

Problem Statement

The site needed to highlight the key attractions of the festival such as: viewing the track event live, watching DJ performances, participating in race simulators and enjoying the festival grounds & beer gardens.

While adhering to Heineken's brand identity, we were to build an intuitive UI that showcased the race events and facilitated a fun experience for fans.

business & user goals

The business goals were to provide an itinerary and directory to guide fans during the festival. From a User perspective the site needed to be approachable and informative as there was a lot of information to display. The site needed to provide useful links to prepare for the event, as well as showcase local bars for travelers visiting Montreal for the first time.

design process

The site was built out in two stages; 1.0 being used as a promotional tool and 2.0 containing the entire guide to race-weekend.

The intention of the site was to flow as a single element from page-to-page. This informed how the Hero sections were designed, containing similar graphical elements to make for a more seamless transition during navigation.
